A Memphis man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that took place at Kaye’s Food Market in Senatobia this morning.
According to Senatobia’s Assistant Police Chief Robert Brownlee, the man, whom he identified as Tora Lavell Bennett, 42, fled the scene and was eventually arrested on I-55 in Panola County.
Brownlee said Senatobia, Tate County, Panola County, Mississippi Highway Patrol, and Batesville authorities assisted in the subject’s apprehension.
The money taken during the course of the robbery, which occurred at approximately 11:22 a.m., has been recovered, but authorities continue to search for the weapon used in the event, Brownlee said.
Charges for Bennett have not been determined at this time.
