Marvin E. Billingsley

Marvin E. Billingsley, 75, of Senatobia, died Tuesday, November 15 at his residence. He was a retired salesman with Western Auto and a U.S. Army veteran in the Korean War. Services were held Thursday, November 17 in the chapel of Pate-Jones Funeral Home with interment at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Billingsley is survived by his wife, Virginia Billingsley of Senatobia; one sister, Liona Faye Andrews of Sacramento, Calif.; and one brother, David W. Billingsley of Como.

Carrol L. Bird

Carrol L. Bird, 80, of Como died Friday, November 18 at North Oak Regional Medical Center. Mr. Bird was a retired farmer and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. Services were held Sunday, November 20 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Longtown Cemetery.

Mr. Bird is survived by his wife, Nita Bird of Como; Two sons, Bill Hall of Como and Jerry Hall of Red Banks; one sister, Eva Hanna of New York; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

William Russell "Russ" Burnett Sr.

William Russell "Russ" Burnett Sr., 80, of Hernando, died Sunday, November 27 at his residence. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Graveside services were held Friday, December 2 at Hernando Memorial Park.

Mr. Burnett is survived by three daughters, Kathleen Gilmore of Memphis, Tenn., Paula McMillen of Senatobia and Amy Clower of Southaven; two sons, William R. Burnett Jr. of Horn Lake and Dan Allen Burnett of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Walter Joseph Burnett of Olive Branch; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Bohana Davis Jr.

Bohana Davis Jr., 64, of Coldwater, died Thursday, November 24 at Coldwater. He was a retired stock clerk. Services were held Thursday, December 1 at Rodgers Funeral Home with interment at Antioch #1 Cemetery in Senatobia.

John Sidney Farrow

John Sidney Farrow, 66, of Independence died Wednesday, November 23. Services were held Saturday, November 26 at Brantley Funeral Home with interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Independence.

Mr. Farrow is survived by two daughters, Tina Brown of Independence and Brandy Farrow of Ohio; two sons, Greg Farrow and Terry Farrow, both of Independence; two sisters, Kay Mothershed of Coldwater and Marie Clayton of Independence; two brothers, Lester Farrow of Olive Branch and Jerry Farrow of Senatobia; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Tommy Joe Hamilton

Tommy Joe Hamilton, 34, of Charleston, Ark., died Sunday, November 27 near Plumerville, Ark. He was born February 21, 1971 in Memphis, Tenn. to James Sidney Hamilton and Martha Owens Hamilton. He was a Cooler Mechanic for Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Ft. Smith and was of the Methodist faith. Funeral services were held Friday, December 2 at Free Will Baptist Church with burial at Parks Cemetery in Charleston, Ark. under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home of Paris, Ark. Rev. Jackie Brown officiated. Pallbearers were Butch Astle, Joey Russell, Shane Montgomery, Terry Brummett, Jason Brown and Chris Birmingham. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Denton, Marty Farrow, Bill Allen, Larry and Ben Storey, Jimmy Hamilton, John Watkins, Bobby Randalls, Mark Langston and Shannon Pearson. Mr. Hamilton is survived by his wife, Melissa; two daughters, Colleen Shores and Zoe Gonzales, both of the home; four sons, Tommy Joe Hamilton, Austin James Hamilton and Christopher Jordan Hamilton, all of Charleston, Ark. and James Sidney Hamilton II of the home; his father and stepmother, James and Gayle Hamilton of Lynchburg, Tenn.; his mother, Martha Hamilton of Ingrams Mill, Miss.; his maternal grandmother, Gladys Snell Owens of Cockrum, Miss.; five sisters, Cindy Copeland of Manchester, Tenn., Lisa White of Ingrams Mill, Miss., Jennifer, Jessica White and Jill Hamilton, all of Lynchburg, Tenn.; and one brother, James Gary "Jimmy" Hamilton of Rolling Fork, Miss. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tommy Joe Hamilton Memorial Fund at First National Bank of Barling, account number 4086252.

Janie O'Conner Holloway

Janie O'Conner Holloway, 78, of Arkabutla, died Monday, November 28 at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of Arkabutla United Methodist Church. Services were held Wednesday, November 30 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Hopewell Cemetery in Arkabutla.

Mrs. Holloway is survived by her husband, Charles Holloway of Arkabutla; one daughter, Linda Broadway of Arkabutla; one sister, Georgia Smith of Sardis; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Reverend Jerry Lee Salley

Reverend Jerry Lee Salley, 62, of Meridian, died Wednesday, November 23. Services were held Saturday, November 26 at St. Pauls United Methodist Church with interment at Memorial Gardens in Clarksdale.

Rev. Salley is survived by his wife, Peggy Chalk Salley of Meridian; two daughters, Liza Salley Shannon of Columbus and Carol Johnson Borgognoni of Lambert; two sons, Christopher Lee Salley of Siloam Springs, Ark. and Carl Johnson of Oklahoma City, Okla.; his sister, Edna Salley Jennings of Ark.; his brother, Oscar E. Salley Jr. of Texas; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Cora Lee Parks

Cora Lee Parks, 79, of Crenshaw, died Tuesday, November 29 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - East. She was a housewife. Services were held Saturday, December 3 at St. Joseph M.B. Church with interment at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Crenshaw.

Mrs. Parks is survived by seven daughters, Mary Parks, Ora Nelson, Bessie Sims and Roberta Wright, all of Crenshaw, Emma Dukes of Longtown, Rose Mary Robinson of Chicago, Ill. and Patsy Fox of Batesville; six sons, Eddie Parks, James Parks and Johnny Parks, all of Crenshaw, Bobby Parks and David Parks, both of Longtown and Willie Parks of Lakewell, Fla.; 41 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Clara Odessa Townsend

Clara Odessa Townsend, 78, of Hernando, died Friday, November 25 at Desoto Baptist Hospital. She was a housewife. Services were held Saturday, December 3 at Second Baptist M.B. Church with interment at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Townsend is survived by her husband, Tommy Townsend; three daughters, Alberta Williams and Ethel Bernice Terrell, both of Hernando and Tommie Davis of Horn Lake; six sons, Robert Townsend and Randle Townsend, all of Hernando, Jimmy Townsend and Melvin Townsend, both of Southaven, Charles Townsend of Horn Lake and Earnest Townsend, of Memphis, Tenn.; her sister, Helen Williams of Arkabutla; her brother, Robert Conley of Memphis, Tenn.; and 19 grandchildren.

June "Bug" Gadd Robins

June "Bug" Gadd Robins, 36, of Olive Branch and Byhalia, died on Saturday, November 26, 2005 in Byhalia. She was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Olive Branch. Memorial services were held Friday, December 2 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch.

Ms. Robins leaves her two children, Johnathan Cates of Byhalia and Angelique Robins of Flippin, Ark.; a brother and sister, Gary K. Gadd and Alisha Gadd VanWey, both of Olive Branch; her parents, Lester and Barbara Sinquefield Farrow of Olive Branch and a long time special friend, David Newsom. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to the House of Grace or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Homer Wilborn Jr.

Homer Wilborn Jr., 58, of Memphis, Tenn. and formerly of Sardis, died Tuesday, November 22. He was a retired Dough Mixer for the Hostess Co. Services were held Monday, November 28 at Cooley's Mortuary Chapel.

Mr. Wilborn is survived by his wife, Clarice Wilborn of Memphis, Tenn.; four daughters, April Callahan, Racquel Fuller, Tiffany Fuller and Nikki Fuller, all of Detroit, Mich.; three sisters, Louella Webb and Virginia Wilborn, both of Sardis; six brothers, David U. Wilborn, Raniey Wilborn, Wayne Wilborn and James Melvin Wilborn, all of Sardis, W.T. Wilborn of Coldwater and Willie James Wilborn of Detroit, Mich.; and six grandchildren.
