It appears Ole Miss, under the leadership of new Principal Danny Jones, is well on the way to the final death and cremation of Colonel Rebel.

Indications are that the school will vote on whether to have a new "on field" mascot or no mascot at all. Apparently Col. Rebel is not going to be an option except on items upon which the university collects royalty money.

Political correctness is one thing. University revenue is quite another.
