Even parents are getting schooled

If there is one bright spot to the troubles plaguing the Tate County School District, it's this: parents are getting an education, along with their children.

They are learning that it isn't always the squeaky wheel that gets the grease - sometimes, it's the civilized, well-behaved wheel.

They are learning that there is a system to how things work, that there is a process. In this I-want-it-now culture, that can be easy to forget.

They are learning that elected officials can only do so much with what they are given to work with, both in community support and real dollars and cents.

The school district will come out leaner, stronger, and much better equipped to educate our kids, and parents will be better for it as well.
