Mary Joan Garrity, 71, of Coldwater, Miss., passed away December 26, 2012. Memorial services were held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Hernando, Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
She is survived by her husband Anthony "Paul" Garrity; daughter, Debra Houser; sons, Michael Garrity and Stephen Garrity; daughter-in-law, Bobbye Garrity; brother, Bracton Ivey; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Brenda Gayden Howe
Brenda Gayden Howe, 59, of Hernando, Miss., passed away December 30, 2012, at her residence. Services were held Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Howe.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa G. Howe of Hernando; son, Brandon Neil Howe of Atoka, Tenn.; sisters, Barbara Brownlee of Batesville, Patricia Freeman of Strayhorn, Bobbie Floyd of Strayhorn, and Robbie Parrish of Sardis; brother, Richard Gayden of Hernando; grandchildren, Zachary Pinion, Nicholas Pinion, Dale Campbell Howe, and Smith Strong Howe.
Patricia Anne Parrish Irby
Patricia Anne Parrish Irby, 83, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Mrs. Irby was the medical librarian for the Baptist College of Health Sciences School of Nursing in Memphis, Tenn. and a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, William Irby of Coldwater; three daughters, Rosemary Sinquefield of Senatobia, Suzan Freibert (Ricky) of Tucson, Ariz. and Kathryn Devereaux of Tullahoma, Tenn.; two sons, William Irby (Nancy) of Tullahoma, Tenn. and David Irby of Memphis, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Graveside services were held Monday, December 31, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Oakland City Cemetery in Oakland, Miss.

Joretta Lewallen
Joretta (Jo) Lewallen, 81, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away January 1, 2013, after a long illness with cancer. She was one of eight children born to the late Lonnie and Birdie Yancey. She was a faithful wife, mother, and Christian who dearly loved her family. She had been active in Bible Study and was a member of Fredonia Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, J. W. Lewallen; sons, Jim (Pat) and John (Susan) Lewallen; three grandsons, three great granddaughters, three sisters, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were held January 5, at 2:00 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral home in Senatobia. Burial was in Brooks Chapel Cemetery.

William "Bill" Lewis, 73, of Senatobia, Miss., died on December 29, 2012. Funeral services were held at Holly Springs Funeral Home Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Burial followed at Hinds Chapel in Walls, Miss.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Carpenter Lewis of Senatobia; a son, William Edward Lewis, Jr. of Horn Lake, Miss.; two daughters, Donna K. Phillips of Horn Lake and Jennifer Lynn Lewis of Walls; and two brothers, Walter Don Lewis of Phoenix, Ariz. and James Ross Lewis of Memphis, Tenn.

Muriel Linette Scruggs, 80, passed away December 29, 2012 at her residence in Independence, Miss. Services were held Monday, December 31, at 2:00 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery.
She leaves her husband, James Eason Scruggs of Independence; her sons, Clark D. Scruggs and James R. Scruggs, both of Independence; her brother, Thomas J. Fosha of Heber Springs, Ark.; her grandchildren, Jeremy C. Scruggs, Barton C. Scruggs, Christina Scruggs Wilbanks; and her great grandchildren, Brenna Wilbanks, Collin Wilbanks, Olivia Scruggs and Owen Scruggs.
Mrs. Scruggs was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

She is survived by a parent, Reby Echols of Como; a daughter, Carla Echols Street of Coldwater and Kayrounda Echols of Southaven; sisters, Clara Echols and Tina Ware, both of Senatobia; brothers, Aaron Echols of Memphis, Tenn., Charles Echols of Memphis, Tenn., and Walter Wayne Echols of Como; and five grandchildren.

Ann E. Spahn
Ann E. Spahn, 89, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at her home in Senatobia. Mrs. Spahn, formerly an officer manager for M&R Construction, was a member of Senatobia Presbyterian Church, a former member of the Senatobia Cosmopolitan Club, and former member of the Senatobia Hospital Board of Directors.
She is survived by one daughter, Prue K. Spahn Smith (Jeffrey) of Germantown, Wis.; and one son, Joseph G. Spahn of Senatobia; and two grandchildren, Gray Spahn and Gunner Spahn, also of Seantobia.
Mrs. Spahn was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert F. Spahn.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 31, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at Senatobia Presbyterian Church. Burial followed in Bethesda Cemetery in Senatobia.

Roger Dale Wells, 58, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away December 30, 2012, at Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville, Tenn. Services were held Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Faith Chapel Holiness Church in Senatobia. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his special loving friend, Roxie Wells Jeanis; daughter, Teresa Gale Smith of Enid Shores, Miss.; stepdaughters, Joann Poteete of Senatobia, Kay Sowell of Coldwater, and Pam Feeler of Rolla, Mo.; mother, Irene Wells of Senatobia; sisters, Alma Jean Wilkey (Charles) of Senatobia, and Rita Wade (Robert) of Arkabutla; brothers, James Maloy Wells (Gladys) of Senatobia, Marion Wells (Jeanette) of Hernando, Danny Wells (Joyce) of Senatobia, and Randy Wells of Senatobia; loving friends, A.D. and Pauline
Gordon; 12 grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Wells.
Mr. Wells was a member of Faith Chapel Holiness Church in Senatobia.
