Warriors win big one in homecoming struggle

Dallon Garrett #10 and Brandon Dean #24 pressure the Holly Springs kicker and the PAT is blocked by Senatobia in a 7 to 6 Senatobia High School Homecoming victory
The extra point that Senatobia blocked in the second quarter proved to be the most pivotal play in a low scoring game that was decided by just one point. The Warriors entered the game with a new "Bull" look on offense. With as many as 10 in the box at a time, the Warriors plugged away on the ground to a productive first half which included a touchdown on an early first quarter possession. In fact, by halftime, Senatobia had topped their season totals in yards rushing with 199. Holly Springs' late second quarter touchdown would have tied the score were it not for the heroic effort of the Warriors special teams. The blocked extra point saved the game.

Both teams were capable of producing yardage throughout the but defenses only bent. The score of 7 to 6 would not change, and the Warriors walked off the field at homecoming victors in a division game. The Warriors have won 2 of the last 3 games and seemed to have found a groove that could provide more victories on the season, and soon.

This Friday the Warriors get the opportunity to avenge a loss from last season. Byhalia comes to town to try their hand against the Warriors. Last year, Byhalia set multiple state records in passing, and in a trip to Byhalia we experienced that high powered passing game. Their coach and most of the players from that record breaking team are gone now and the Warriors are anxious for another victory.

Come to Varner Field Friday night, make a lot of noise, wear blue, paint the chest and show these Warriors that WE BELIEVE!
