I just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed Arnold Dye's articles. I grew up in Grenada and remember many things he's written about (like Gus's Little Widget!). I was amazed he wrote about Buck! My grandparents were relocated from the middle of Grenada Lake when it was built to the Graysport crossing area. I passed Buck's pen many times in my childhood! I also like Joe Lee III's column; I knew his dad from long ago as well. Keep up the good work!

Couldn't the election results by preceint have been printed in larger print? I am not the only one unable to read this. The delinquit taxes were in much larger print. Just getting old I guess. Try to do better. Thanks, Mike

Tried to log on to vote on smoking ban in Hernando but could not find location. Also would like to see state legislators vote on all issues posted in Democrat weekly. this would help in determining who should be reelected. Thanks!

I would like to see the Democrat add an on-line forum allowing us to discuss/debate Tate County issues, similar to the forum the Desoto Appeal provides.

I enjoyed your coverage of the deploying troops. But you have seemed to have forgotten the active duty troops from the area that have been deployed. I have benn in the millitary for 3yrs I was once part of 2/198 armor in Senatobia, But I've been active since my transfer in March to 13th COSCOM out of FT.Hood TX. The coverage of SPC,Micheal Fletcher and his wife was nice.Micheal is my brothere in law I was recently married to his stepsister Brittany Rowland on March 28 Before deploying on March 30 to Iraq. Maybe you should cover all aspects of the millitary in the area.

As the former editor of THE DEMOCRAT and living in Israel since 1997, it gives me great pleasure to log on each week to stay up to date with my "hometown" news. Thank you for doing such a great job to keep the public, around the world, abreast of what is happening in Tate County.

As a kid growing up in Strayhorn, MS, I use to wait anxiously for the weekly issue of "The Democrat". My father, Ira Bizzell, had a running love/hate relationship with its editor at that time--Hal Spraggins. I am happy to find that you have an online edition. I wish though that you had those weekly columns of community news. My mother, Vinnie, used to write the Strayhorn news.

This is a marvelous link! A website will often list an email address for the whole company. As far as contacting specific employees/staff is concerned, a person either has to guess & hope or sent a general message to the "attention of...."

As a journalist in Washington DC who graduated from Independence High School, I am happy to see this great link. It houses a wealth of news and links while it helps me to stay tuned to what is going on in the community where I was raised. It looks great! Thanks for this link to your wonderful newspaper.
