Investigators with Tate County Sheriff's Office, along with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, have arrested an individual in connection with the November 30, 2012 murder of Patrick A. Jones.

A man identified as Floyd Newsom, Jr. 20, of Tate County was arrested on January 24, 2013 and charged with murder, according to a news release from Sheriff Brad Lance's office. Newsom was taken before a Tate County Justice Court Judge and held over without bond, according to the release.

The victim, Patrick A. Jones, had been reported missing from his home on Tate-Marshall Road in Tate County and was found dead several days later. The cause of death was determined to be by gunshot wounds.

The Sheriff's release requested that anyone with information regarding this case call the Tate County Sheriff Office at 662-562-4434 or call anonymously to the Crime Stoppers Hotline at (800) 729-2169.
